can children take a course with Bath Photography Courses?

The simple answer is yes! Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, however. For your peace of mind, we have public liability insurance and an Enhanced DBS Check, which is the highest level of suitability to work with children and young people.

What if I don't like learning in a group?

All our courses can be taken individually if you would prefer to work alone. We're able to teach you pretty much any aspect of photography you want to work on, including editing in Lightroom and Photoshop. We charge this at the rate of one of our solo bespoke courses.

What should I bring to my course?

We'll supply you with plenty of resource material to take away with you, so you don't forget everything you've learned! But please bring pens/pencils and a notebook. We'll mostly be working outside, so clothes to keep you warm and dry are essential. If you own a camera, of course bring that, making sure that the battery is fully charged and that you have a properly formatted memory card.

What kind of camera do I need?

Most of the courses can be taken with almost any digital camera, and if you don't own a camera, we can probably lend you one for the course. Other courses, such as the studio lighting course, require a DSLR, which we can lend you if you do not own one. If you own a tripod these can be useful for the courses, but are by no means essential.

Where are the courses held?

The courses are held either in or near Bath. We use the studio of English Photoworks in Corsham, just outside Bath: this is where we do the class-based work and studio photography, if applicable. The majority of the work is practical and hands-on, and we do this in the beautiful countryside in Corsham or elsewhere near Bath.

How do I book and pay for my course?

Booking and payment are managed securely online, and payment is taken by credit or debit card via Stripe. You can visit the bookings page here, which gives you the option to purchase places on a course. If you're booking for more than one person, simply increase the quantity of places you'd like to secure.

What happens if I can't come to my course?

If you find that you're unable to attend your course, either because of illness or another compelling reason, we will endeavour to book you on to the next available course.
